ABOUT KOFI LAB COFFEE ENTERPRISE

The story of KOFI LAB began with a simple love for coffee.

In 2020, our founder, Uncle Gavin, started exploring coffee roasting on his own. Back then, there was no team, limited funding, and no large equipment. He learned roasting techniques online, bought different coffee beans, and kept testing different flavours and roasting methods by himself.

KOFI LAB’s first product was Brazil Santos Medium Dark Roasted Coffee Beans, launched on Shopee under the brand name “UNCLE GAVIN”.

At that time, Uncle Gavin only had a small hot-air roaster that could roast 300g each time. Many nights were spent testing, recording, and adjusting the roast, often working alone until late at night.

By 2021, KOFI LAB slowly gained a group of regular customers. What touched him the most was that many customers supported the core value we had always believed in:

Because of this, Uncle Gavin did not choose to buy a large commercial roaster. Instead, he bought a 1KG roaster. To him, production volume could grow slowly, but freshness should never be compromised.

In 2022, apart from the first Brazil Blend, which continued under the Uncle Gavin name, other products were officially launched with the KOFI LAB square logo. These included our best-selling KIMOJEE Blend, Black Pearl Blend, and Kaw Kaw Blend. Each blend had its own unique flavour, character, and roasting style.

Although Uncle Gavin had gained years of roasting experience and received strong support from customers, he never stopped learning. In 2024, he joined the SCA-recognised CSP Roasting Program to better understand the key details behind every stage of coffee roasting, with the aim of making the products more stable and professional.

In 2025, to allow more people to enjoy KOFI LAB products with greater confidence, Uncle Gavin decided to work with local partners and bring the production into a factory environment with Halal, ISO, and HACCP certifications. This allowed us to continue supplying coffee lovers in a cleaner, safer, and more organised environment.

In 2026, KOFI LAB continued working with manufacturers and sourced instant coffee powders from different countries. After many rounds of testing and adjustment, we officially registered KOFCAFE as our instant coffee brand, making it easier for more coffee lovers to enjoy the taste we carefully selected.

From one person and a small 300g roaster, to today’s KOFI LAB and KOFCAFE, our journey may not have been fast, but every step was taken seriously.

Because we have always believed that truly good coffee is not only about taste. Behind every cup, there should be persistence, sincerity, and a heart that does not want to disappoint our customers.
